Sports day 2016
Sports day 2016 which was the first sports day organized by the OREPA Student Chapter was held throughout the day of 11th September 2016 at Royal College Junior Grounds. The main highlight of the event was the cricket tournament but there were many fun games, surprises, music and food stalls too. 10 cricket teams participated in the event and the main purpose of the event was to cultivate brotherhood in professional hearts. It was a fantastic carnival of cricketing extravaganza along with exciting fun games and prizes.
Sports day 2017
In the hopes of rekindling the spirit of brotherhood, OREPA Sports Day 2017 was held on 13th of August, 2017 at Royal College Main Ground from 8 a.m. with the participation of a massive number of current undergraduate OREPA members as well as recently graduated members. 11 cricket teams competed head to head for the title which consisted of 8 players and 2 reserves. After a fierce battle between the teams, the two teams Royal Giants and 8ක් නෑ managed to get to the grand final where they clashed in a fierce match out of which Royal Giants emerged victorious. The crowned champions, Royal Giants were awarded the grand trophy of the Champions and 8ක් නෑ were handed the Runners-Up trophy for the valiant game they played. Thilina Dilshan was awarded the Best Batsman and Anju Cheran was awarded the Best Bowler trophies for the brilliant performances they put up with the bat and the ball respectively. For his stunning performance throughout the competition, with both the bat and the ball, Nilanka was awarded the Man of the Series award.
